Chairmans Charity 2016

Hi everyone
2016 was an exciting year for my very first Chairman's Charity fundraising. With your help we raised an incredible amount of cash for the charities listed below:-

  • Cancer Research
  • Diabetes UK
  • Nightingale House Hospice
  • North Wales Air Ambulance
  • Motor Nurone Disease
  • B Positive

"The Chairmans Charity Bucket" the CCB was taken to all lunches and social events and all donations were very welcome, and you really did dig deep ( A total of £417.75 was collected at the Club lunches & the various social events undertaken through out the year event)

I am very proud to say we completed the trek around North Wales on Friday 29th July

The trek had an A-Z theme and we visited somewhere beginning with every letter of the alphabet over the 6 days.

After some very creative thinking we were able to include stops for QUZX  - Queensferry - Glyndwr University of Wrexham -     X Ray dept at Llandudno and the Anglesey Sea Zoo

The link below will show you where we travelled on a day by day basis...

The trip was approx 263 miles and we started and ended each day with a 5 mile walk. The fun bit was making up the middle section by travelling on a, motor boat, steam train, in vintage rally cars, mountain bikes, vans, mini bus etc etc etc.                 The good news is I had a fab bunch of volunteer walkers and drivers to help with this mammoth challenge

We raised £4500 via the £4£ scheme and this made a real difference to the total amount raised for the Charities during the Trek

The great news is we raised £15,421k, which means each of the above charities will all recieve a minimum of £2.5k each, and I hope you will agree this is a fantastic achievement. A personal and huge massive thank you to all who supported the Trek in every way possible from waving us off in the rain providing BnB or sending messages of support

Thank you all - from your very proud Chairman

Mark
